An exchange student at 19

Two months ago before 2015 ends I went to Indonesia as an exchange student.I really don't know what to expect but I'm excited what the future had for me.

I was happy because it is one in my bucket-list of 2015.

Being an exchange student in Indonesia was one of the best things that has happened to me before the year ended, and I wanted to share the moments and experiences I had together with my co-exchange students and people in Indonesia. I learned that there’s always a special season in a student’s life; where you would feel the desire to get out of your comfort zone and experience something new that would help you grow deeper as an individual.

With Thai and Indonesian Students
In my two weeks stay in Indonesia, I have learned a lot and found myself there. I never imagined myself again performing in front of many people, talking in front of them and discussing some serious issues regarding about our community exposure.

My groupmates in Family Assessment
The happiness I gained as an exchange student in Indonesia is far different from being a student here in Manila. In Indonesia, I can't be shy, there’s no criticisms, no judgement, just pure humbleness and kindness to others. I think I just gained back my confidence. You know being an exchange student for two weeks has been an extraordinary event in my college path especially before I graduate, as it gave me a variety of wonderful and fulfilling experiences.

Last day in Lembang after our Family Assessment

I always believe that for every experience I get, there’s an unseen certificate attached to it.

  • First, I’m always guided by my lessons in everyday walk in the path of my life.
Went out for dinner
  • Second, the experience of being part of this program enriched my knowledge, capabilities and enhanced my skills more in community and hospital setting.
Tried the traditional weighing scale
  • And last, it honored my values as a student, as a future leader, as an individual and as a citizen of the world.

As I stepped out into a new place, it seems that almost everything was entirely different: new classmates, lecturers, clinical instructors, classrooms, style of teaching and learning, home, roommates, lifestyle and even the food I ate every day...

To sum up all my happiness, it may be an

exchange program but at the same time it is

tour for me, because it is my first time

to visit that place.

I just want to blog the five best places I’ve been to that really captured my heart...

Also, this blog is about the places I've gone to, so I thought maybe I should share this one...

The first day in Cimahi Lembang, we went to the Sunday market.

The place is just so fun since you can buy some items in a cheaper one and you can see children enjoying their playtime. I see a lot of people enjoying their time picking  out stuff to buy.

Second, I went to the place where it all started that everything happens for a reason. On the afternoon we were toured to the Cikole Tea Flower and I was amazed by the beautiful view and cold weather.

Life in Lembang is simple yet you will discover experience in there, and I just want to say how beautiful the place Lembang is.

Third, we went to the most popular place in Lembang which is the Tangkuban Perahu and toured around the beautiful city of Lembang. I swear I left my heart in Lembang.

T shirt from Bench and Shoes from Adidas
This day was very overwhelming. I never thought I would be happy in my stay here because it was not what I have expected it to be, but now I’m more amazed about the goodness that God has showed me.

In this I learned that I just need to be patient
always since everything will be fine and everything will be planned in a good way.

There is only one thing I wanted to happen,

it is to make more memories again together

with them. I know that this is not the end

but only the beginning of our friendship and

a start to make new memories once again.

After touring we ate at a cottage

restaurant...

And... It’s not yet the end of my day because

the finale, we’ll be going to tour the City

of Bandung.

It is also one of my favorite places since you can feel like you are in a City. There are a lot of beautiful scenery out there. Also there are a lot of different people you can see because it is one of the tourist spots in Indonesia.
I also enjoyed every moments I have that day. I learned to be friendly, love one another, help one another and make some people happy in just a simple way.

Fourth, after our health promotion we ate in a beautiful and nature themed place which makes me more in love since I’m a nature lover.

We ate at D’SDL restaurant a mixed Singaporean and Arabian designs and culture. The food was expensive, but it's all worth it. That was one of the best view I’ve discovered in Lembang that’s why I am more in love with the place.

Fifth, And this is my last day in Indonesia. And I just enjoyed the moment together with them.

and CI from Budi Luhur Institute of Health Sciences

I also went again for the last time to see the beauty of Bandung in Alun-Alun.

It breaks my heart since I can’t deny that on the 29th we’ll be separated from each other and do our daily lives in our own country. I guess I had a good bond with these people that’s why I’m feeling the sadness in my heart. This would be our last time to be with each other, so I just treasure every moment I have to be with them.

The moment we had with each other will always
be remembered in our daily lives.

The smile they

put in my face

will always be

kept in my

heart and the

kindness they

showed me will

always help me

to be a selfless woman.

This moment will forever be the

best of 2015.

Thank you... See you in my next publish for 2016...
